Dosage: One tablet should be taken daily, starting 1 to 2 days before entering a malaria-risk area, continued daily during your stay, and for 7 days after leaving the area.
Side effects: Temporary side effects may include headache, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhoea, or dizziness. These are usually mild and short-lived.
Additional precautions: Use mosquito repellents, wear long sleeves and trousers in the evenings, and sleep under treated mosquito nets for added protection.
Before your appointment: Inform your healthcare professional if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medications.
Risks caused by malaria: Malaria can cause high fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, and fatigue. Without prompt treatment, it can lead to severe complications such as organ failure or death.
